There was no other amp to install, the factory head unit powered the door speakers and the sub had its own. The hardest part for that was the wiring harness. I installed the factory subwoofer with amp under the rear seat just as it would have come from the factory. It had to be programmed to the trucks options ( model, steering wheel controls, subwoofer, audiophile etc. I replaced the front speakers with the Audiophile setup which includes tweeters and a crossover mounted to the door speaker. Is there an external amp for the speakers or do they get powered directly from the head unit? I know the stock subwoofer has an amp attached to the back of the enclosure. I'm also curious as to what parts are required to upgrade to the Ford Audiophile sound system. I've been looking on places like eBay and I can buy a 6 disc changer and/or Nav that was originally intended to go in this truck but I want to make sure my steering wheel controls will still work. He said that he wouldn't even look up a part number for the 6 disc changer because he didn't think there would be any plug-ins for it in the wire loom. He took the VIN for my truck and told me he could get me replacement parts for what was originally installed, but nothing else. ![]() I went into my local Stealership and talked to one of the parts guys. I'd like to upgrade to the Ford 6 disc changer or the Ford Nav system and add some additional power and a subwoofer. ![]() The system appears to have the standard speakers and no subwoofer. I just bought a 2008 F350 Lariat Crew Cab pickup and it has the single disc CD player. Found some Infinity Kappa 693Ms on sale a few weeks ago so bought them. Also want reliability as I currently intend to hold on to this vehicle for many years - it's been a great performer so far.Īnyone know the back beat on the Tesla style products all coming form "other than" the common aftermarket manufacturers? I suspect it's some kind of marketing or patent issue going on with Tesla's supply chain, or perhaps Tesla themselves.Hopefully somebody out there has some experience with the issue I'm facing and has some suggestions for me. Stereo/Audio - 2021 Stereo upgrade - Spent some quality time with the truck and got the first phase of the stereo upgrade done. Main thing I want to be sure of is that I don't lose any functionality of my current system and controls. I'm not sold on the that look, but like the comfort of a name brand I recognize. What is throwing me off is none of the established after market manufacturers (Pioneer, JVC, Kenwood, Alpine etc.) are offering these portrait tablet style screens.
